Campbell Wylie
Campbell moved to Wanganui to undertake the Certificate in Glass Design and Production, completing this in 2007.
Campbell predominately uses kiln formed glass techniques to create his work. “I am drawn to the optical and illusional qualities that glass provides."
Illusions, what do we see? I am facinated by visual illusions, and their effects on the eye or brain. I aim to create works that spark visual interest and intrigue; something that provokes a response, structured yet abstract, extending into the field of Op Art and visual illusion.
Campbell also creates mixed media sculptures where glass is the primary component. "I often use heavily textured surfaces to optimise the play of light and tonal variation within my work."
